Wiped Out

On Monday our zone got together and played glow in the dark volleyball. Sort of.. The paint we used to make the volleyball glow didn't last very long, and so it was more chucking a ball at each other in the dark until we turned on the lights π It was fun though! Our zone is pretty big, we have 20 missionaries, so the teams were a good size. I am quite terrible at volleyball, but I did hit it a couple times! Not in the right direction, but I hit it!
Tuesday was a pretty slow day. We did a lot of paperwork π΅π« The amount of red tape that one has as a missionary was not something I was prepared for. Somebody should have warned me π
Our day ramped up a little when we had (another) meeting. We decided to go get ice cream after. We somehow managed to take 3 wrong turns getting there. When we finally had our ice cream, it dripped all over Sister Maughan's white pants and shoes. Talk about the straw that broke the camel's back. There was ice cream and tears everywhere. We retired early.
Wednesday was much better. We got all the ice cream out of everything, and that helped quite a bit. We had lots of meetings all day, but it ended up being pretty fun! We have a good group π One of the newest Elders (he's only been been in the field for 2 weeks) And all he had for lunch was 2 slices of bread and a spoonful of peanut butter! I made him eat some carrots so he wouldn't be starving. Hopefully he'll pack a bigger lunch next week.
Thursday we went to the cafΓ© in Barnes & Noble to update some of our lesson notes. It smells so good in that store.. I miss my books a lot π
It was only slightly torturous, and I survived πͺ
We had an incredible lesson with our friend, Chanel. She's from Hong Kong and she has never really learned about Jesus Christ before. She is the sweetest human on the whole planet! She gave us all sorts of snacks before we left π₯°
Then about an hour before we turn in for the day, we got this call. A lady asked us if we could come and help take 7 or 8 bags of garbage to the dumpster for her. ¯\_(γ)_/¯ Why not? We get there and all the trash is piled outside the door, so we take it down the stairs to the dumpster. Just as we were leaving, she yells out, "wait there's more!" We ended up taking at least 5 or 6 trips up and down the stairs. She just kept piling garbage up in front of the door. That was an interesting experience. There was a point when we weren't sure if we could get it all in the dumpster! But we successfully achieved our mission π«‘π
Friday was pretty chill. We had a lesson in the evening with a new friend, Alex. He is funny! He told us beforehand that our conversation might turn into a debate because "that's how he learns" He's a senior in high school and he has a lot going on in that head of his π It was such a fun lesson π He even had little hors d'oeuvre for us π₯Ί (he's 17)
So that was my week! Lots of stuff happening π Hopefully yall had a good week as well π€
Love ya!
Love,
Sister Aysha May Entrikin
